1. We help our members with their relocation to Edmonton.
2. We direct our new comers to language and professional education according
to their needs and skills.
3. We provide counselling and tutorials for selecting and applying for
employment.
4. We provide assistance to broken families, current refugees and any
member in need about immigration policies and procedures.
5. We provide assistance to resolve personal issues and conflicts in
every day living.
6. We sustain a cultural center for our members where they can feel
welcomed environment.
7. We gather our members on a regular basis to enhance community spirit.
FIELD TRIPS-WINTER
AND SUMMER CAMPS
We organize nature trips, sight seeing trips and cultural trips to different
parts of Canada.
We aim:
1. To improve the sense of belonging to Canada.
2. To give a chance of relaxation in a friendly environment to our members.
3. To build sense of community within our members.
4. To give an opportunity to our members to interact with people they
would not interact normally in every day life.
5. To broaden the carrier perspectives of our members by visiting different
job sites.

Activity

WEEKEND
SCHOOL
1. Weekend school for K12.
2. We give supplementary courses to improve the grades of K12 students.
This is needed because most of these students are immigrants and new to
Edmonton school system. Edmonton School system can be challenging especially
with little or no help from parents.
3. The instructors are guided by two of our members who are Hasan Huseyin
Korkmaz of Catholic School board and Zeynep Tekin of Public School board.
4. To preserve their heritage we give opportunities to cherish their heritage
and learn about their culture. These opportunities range from courses
to social activities to folkloric dance classes, and to art exhibitions.
5. We invite members of civil offices to give presentation and interact
with students to improve their understanding of rules and regulations
of the society.
6. We organize field trips to places such as, city hall, legislature,
Royal Alberta Museum, Telus science center and Fort Edmonton Park.
7. We encourage healthy and active life styles by dedicating time slots,
to sportive and outdoor – indoor activities.

Meet Your
Neighbour
Turkish community is a fast growing community in Edmonton. Growing from
a few hundreds the years ago to several thousands today. Since Turkish
culture is quite different and unique heritage our community feels the
need to make its presence known. To achieve this we organize meet your
neighbour events on a personal level.
The program consists of inviting neighbours, non-Turkish members of
the society, to our houses and community center for an improved understanding
and communication opportunities. We will attain:
1. Understanding which will diminish the possibility of cultural conflict.
2. Integration of our members to the society by their participation
and interaction with their neighbours.
3. Improvement on safety and unity within the neighbourhood.
4. Opportunities for possible employment and observation of people in
our society in various careers for both sides.
